Erawan
Shrine
The sacred Hindu god Brahma which is widely revered in Thailand, is
located on the corner of Ratchadamri and Phloenchit roads. The shrine
has never been left without crowds of worshippers who bring joss sticks,
flower garlands and miniature wooden elephants, or even hire a classical
Thai dancing troupe to pay respect to the god. |

Jim Thompson’s
Thai House
A traditional Thai style house, which is now a museum displaying
Asian artifacts and antiques-collections of their late American owner,
Jim Thompson. The house is located at the end of Soi Kasemsan 2, Rama
I road. If you are interested in buying Thai silk, there is a shop
selling Thai silk and other souvenirs as well. |

A handicraft centre, located on Ratchadamri road, sells many kinds
of goods. Examples of items available are Thai silk, ceramics, lacquerware,
wood carvings, bronze objects and other traditional Thai crafts. |
The vicinity of Sukhumvit is even more impressive for
shopaholics, owing to several opulent malls like Siam Paragon,
Central World Plaza, Gaysorn Plaza,
Central Chit Lom. Each of them is conveniently situated
along the skytrain’s routes.

Across from Ma Boon Khrong is Siam Square which is another
shopping paradise for both Thai and foreign shoppers. Along the numerous
sois of Siam Square, you can find many hip shops and restaurants. This is
where large numbers of Thai youngsters hanging out. A walking in this area
