The trip starts at Pier, running through picturesque scenes of temples as well as Thai-style riverside houses and ways of life along the bustling canal of Bangkok. On this tour you will be taken by a long-tail boat along the Chao Phraya River and through some of the smaller canals in the Thonburi area, where Thais from all different classes live side by side. In these areas, many homes, trading houses, and temples remain oriented towards the canals and provide a fascinating glimpse into a time when the canals were the “highways†of Bangkok. On both sides of the Chao Phraya River, a tourist can see many magnificent temples and architectural buildings including the First Presbyterian Church, the Royal Thai Navy Dockyard, the Thai Maritime Navigation Company, the Old Customs House, Wat Prayunrawong, Wat Arun, the Grand Palace, Wat Rakhang Kositaram, and the Royal Boat House.
